The fondness, people have for these two items, individually is such that any thought of combination of these two together is worth drooling over. Wine chocolate, the term for this royal combination, comes primarily in two forms- drinkable liquid and chocolate bars laced with wine. Take a look at both the recipes, so that you can savor the wine chocolate of your liking.
Recipe for Chocolate Wine as a Drinkable Liquid
Chocolate wine is prepared by first boiling the wine of your choice, until its volume is reduced by half. Add chocolate to the reduced wine and blend it till all the chocolate is melted. For 1 bottle of wine, you need approximately 1 ounce of chocolate, dark or milk chocolate, depending on your taste needs. Around 1 cup of milk should be boiled and added to the chocolate mixture while another cup of milk should be frothed. This milk froth should then be added later after the chocolate wine mixture is nicely blended. Chocolate wine is generally served hot with cocoa powder garnishing. However, if you aren’t into cooking, you can always buy readymade chocolate wine from your nearby local market or order it online.
Recipe for Wine Chocolate Bars
This is a trickier recipe than the previous one. For this you’ll need, ½ cup cream, ½ teaspoons of vanilla and expresso powder, ½ cup of your favorite wine (preferably red), cocoa powder and 8-9 ounces of chocolate, cut into small pieces. As the first step, you’ll have to heat the cream in a pan without letting it boil. The hot cream is to be put over the chocolate pieces. Till this mixture sits, whisk wine, vanilla and expresso powder together to form a nicely blended mixture. Mix the two mixtures and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. You can make balls of the wine chocolate mixture after two hours, or give it a bar shape using your kitchen cutlery. Sprinkle cocoa powder on top to garnish it.
